Before you call

It helps to have a few things to hand

You do not need any of this to ring us — but if you have it nearby, the first conversation tends to be more useful.

  • What a difficult day looks like at the moment, and what you would like to change.
  • Roughly what times of day help is needed, and how long for.
  • Whether a local authority or NHS assessment has already taken place, and whether funding is in place.
  • Any diagnosis or condition we should know about, and who else is involved — GP, district nurse, occupational therapist.
  • Whether the person you are calling about knows you are calling. It is worth checking.
