Job Description

As a Senior Care Assistant, the role is to support the Care Coordinator and Field Supervisor. To work as part of the care team, ensuring that the personal, emotional, spiritual and social care requirements of Service Users are met and also respecting their privacy, dignity and promoting independence are met at all times.

Tasks and duties for this job include:

To respond promptly to emergency calls for End of Life/Palliative Care, assess the situation and deal with the Service Users seeking help or call for assistance.

To read and write report in case notes.

To act as a senior key worker and be proactive in the formulation of care plans and risk assessments in accordance with the Service Users needs and wishes and to update as needs change.

To liaise with healthcare professionals and multi-disciplinary teams if a care user requires assistance.

To take part in staff meetings and training activities as directed.

To take responsibility for own professional development by undertaking mandatory training and e-learning courses

To be aware of Health and Safety and of COSHH and abide with the companies health and safety policies

To abide by the Code of Conduct for Healthcare Support Workers and Adult Social Care Workers in England

To uphold the rights, choices, dignity and equality and diversity of each resident with a person-centred approach

To keep Service Users safe and well protected at all times.

To read and follow company policy and procedures, seeking clarity where required.

To act upon and escalate to management all untoward incidents or concerns.

To carry out other reasonable duties as may be required

Do you have the following qualities needed to join the ISS team:

Qualifications:

• A background in care is important for the role of Senior Care Assistant, and you will need a good understanding of care.
• A Level 2 Diploma in Health & Social Care would be useful, as would a good understanding of the wider healthcare industry.
• Ideally, you will also have a C or above in GCSE English and Maths.
• Dedicated and compassionate, your passion for people means you’ll go above and beyond to support the wellbeing of service users.
• Self-motivated and well-organised individual
• Work well as an individual and as part of a team.
• Caring and sensitive to the needs of others
• Flexible and hardworking

Integrated Support Services is looking for Support Workers to fill in permanent or part-time roles for our Service Users.

As a Support Worker, you will be required to provide personalized support for each service user in accordance with their support plan. To promote independence and participation in the community and to assist service users in developing their abilities to meet focused outcomes.

Daily tasks can include but are not limited to:

1. Assisting with eating and drinking,
2. Meal preparation and planning,
3. Personal care,
4. Companionship
5. Encouraging the service user’s independence with day-to-day activities.

Job Description

Assisting the elderly and infirm with care and support needs in their own homes. This care service involves a programme of personal care and household care management that is personalised for each service user in the form of a care plan.

Care duties will therefore include assisting the service user with a variety of duties, and in doing so the carer will observe and respect the service user’s dignity, privacy and independence as far as is practical.

Tasks and duties for this job include:

•  Assist with bathing, toileting, dressing, sleeping, oral hygiene and any other grooming routine as requested by the Service User.
•  Assist with planning and preparing meals in the most hygienic way and assists with feeding if required.
• Generally, assists with service users’ overall comfort and wellbeing.
• Undertakes light cleaning and domestic duties including meal preparation as required.
• Monitors service user’s conditions by taking temperature, pulse, respiration, and weight, and contributes to record keeping.
• Support for complex care such as changing and emptying commode, bottle, or catheter bag.
• Liaises with professional staff in carrying out care plans etc.
• Medication support
• Compassionate and friendly companionship
• Help plan and accompany to outings and appointments.
